momanddaughterLuNcHoLOgy®, a company that makes children’s lunch bags with educational, entertaining and inspirational messages on the OUTSIDE is turning its attention to what kids put INSIDE their lunch bags.

Concerns about the dangers of childhood obesity led LuNcHoLOgy® President Kristi Thomas to use her company’s influence with children and their parents to do something about it. Ms. Thomas and her 12 year old daughter Madison have developed fun recipes for heart healthy and kid friendly bag lunches that kids can make for themselves. The LuNcHoLOgy® Mother Daughter Duo share these ideas with audiences across the country in their: “We’re Kids and We’re Cookin’: Kid Friendly and Heart Healthy Recipes” Stage Show.

Kristi and Madison Thomas will be appearing on the Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival Stage and will be preparing kid-friendly recipes developed by Madison, while sharing fun nutritional, “Betcha’ Didn’t Know” factoids throughout the show. This 30 minutes show is zany and captivating, while teaching important food science that encourages kids to make more nutritious food choices.

All Child Attendees at the LuNcHoLOgy® show will receive a free LuNcHoLOgy® Recipe Bag with the recipe from the show printed right on the front, as well as some of the ingredients placed inside, so every child attendee can make the recipe at home with their Mom or Dad, too. This Mom and Daughter Duo’s favorite recipe is their “Stick-Wich®;” a fresh and fun take on the sandwich and the “Under Cover Chocolate Strawberry®;” exactly what it says it is!

Young Chef Madison Thomas will be on hand at the end of each LuNcHoLOgy® Stage Show to autograph bags for kids and their families.

momanddaughterHave your children ever come home from school, only 2 months into the school year, complaining that they’re bored with their brand new lunch box and they absolutely need a new one? An Akron, Ohio stay-at-home Mom came up with an environmentally friendly alternative to the standard plastic lunch box that is sure to hold every kid’s attention through the school year.

Each morning, Kristi Thomas spent a few moments adding a special touch to her daughter’s school snack and lunch bags. Some days, it was a love note or words of encouragement. Other days, it was a brainteaser, joke or fun fact. Whatever the theme, Kristi always took the time to handprint it, along with some cool artwork, on a simple brown lunch bag. The decorative bags quickly became a hit with her daughter’s classmates. “Kids are always asking for my lunch bags when I’m done with them, Mom or they take them right out of the trash can!” exclaimed the young Thomas. As children, teachers and parents began requesting their own sets, Kristi experienced a “Light Bulb Moment.” She hired a patent attorney, outlined a business plan and dove into the family’s nest egg. Then, with the support of her techy-savvy husband, Kristi proudly launched LuNcHoLOgy®.Today, LuNcHoLOgy® has created more than 1,000 Themed Lunch Bag Sets designed for children of all ages, as well as adult brown-baggers. Made from recycled paper and printed with non-toxic soy-based ink, LuNcHoLOgy® Lunch Bags are compostable and biodegradable. Each Themed Set includes 25 one-of-a kind creations where no 2 bags are alike. Original Illustrations and Age Appropriate Fun Facts are printed on one side of each bag, while space is allocated for a child’s name, room number and teacher’s name on the other. Topics span the gamut, from foreign languages to grosser-than-gross tidbits and sports trivia.
